Although COVID has slowed down traveling for most, it hasn’t stopped many folks from dreaming of taking a big trip when the pandemic ends. Credit card issuers are back in full swing with increased welcome offers and limited-time spending bonuses that can help you build a stash of points or miles to use when you’re ready to hit the road again.

Three Amex Hilton credit cards — the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card, Hilton Honors American Express Card, and The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card — have launched elevated welcome bonuses for a limited time, and it’s not just a boost in points. Each card now offers a statement credit along with more points when you meet the minimum spending requirements, so it’s a good time to consider applying.

Hilton points normally expire if there’s no activity in your account for 12 months, but due to the pandemic, the chain has paused points expiration until December 31, 2021. That said, spending on a Hilton credit card is an easy way to keep your points from expiring until you’re ready to travel.

Amex Hilton Honors Surpass: Earn 150,000 points plus a $150 statement credit

The Hilton Honors Surpass® Card is now offering a bonus of 150,000 points after you spend at least $2,000 on eligible purchases in your first 3 months of account opening, plus a $150 statement credit after your first purchase in the first three months of account opening.

The previous offer was for fewer points and didn’t include the statement credit, which more than offsets the card’s $95 annual fee (See Rates). Along with earning lots of Hilton points, the card comes with automatic Hilton Gold elite status, which comes with perks like room upgrades, bonus earning on stays, and complimentary breakfast. You’ll also receive a free weekend night (valid at almost any Hilton hotel) if you spend $15,000 on the card in a calendar year.

Hilton Honors American Express Business Card: Earn 150,000 points and a $150 statement credit

Small-business owners who enjoy staying with Hilton should consider The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card, with an elevated bonus of a $150 statement credit after your first purchase on the Hilton Honors Card within your first 3 months, plus 150,000 points after you spend at least $2,000 in your first 3 months of account opening. Again, the statement credit is more than enough to offset the $95 annual fee (See Rates).

The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card earns bonus Hilton points in common business categories, and, like the Hilton Honors Surpass® Card, comes with automatic Gold elite status for as long as your card is open. Cardholders have the opportunity to earn a free weekend night certificate after spending $15,000 on purchases in a calendar year, and a second free weekend night after spending a total of $60,000 in the same time frame.
